August 09, 2008Noon   Here's something a bit different... These are designed to be used as small signature pictures on forums, but of course, they can be used anywhere. I've made eight of them so far. They can all be accessed from the Avatar Main Page. 7:30 AM     
I made 12 new avatars, including some bigger ones. These bigger avatars are designed to be skinny and tall, so that when they are used on forums they don't take up too much horizontal space and stretch the page. Check out all of the new avatars here. |

Already two comments in the shoutbox! :D Okay, so I'm easily excitable. *grins* Since I'm on a role and now understand how to manipulate php and install scripts on my server, I'm still at it. I have had a terrible problem with bots spamming my guestbook with ads for casinos and penis enhancers, so I went ahead and upgraded to one that (supposedly) is better at filtering out the spammers. The old one I was using always filled up after 50 entries, too, and I'd have to archive old entries and delete them, which was a pain and didn't allow me to build up a nice full book. Because this guestbook is new, it's empty. If some of you all would be so kind as to put a few entries in it, I'd appreciate it. :) Sign My Guestbook Midnight As you no doubt saw, I added a Shout Box to the front page so that visitors can leave messages. I have noticed it increases the load time of the page, so whether or not it stays depends on whether or not it is used. Have fun with it! Another new feature I got up and running tonight: The Mailing List. I find it a pain in the ass trying to remember to check my favorite websites for new content, and if I forget for awhile, I don't know where to start because the older updates are already gone from their front page (this is why I'm now keeping a log of all updates). For the sake of convenience, I learned a bit about php so that I could install a mailing list manager on my site. I can now send out an email to everyone who signs up for it, telling them when this site has been updated. If you want an email when I update, go to this page and sign up. |
June 28, 20089:00 PM I made four new Aerosmith Wings Logos and divided the wings galleries into static and animated catagories. Check them out here. I also transferred the older updates to their own page. From now on, I'll be keeping a running log of all updates. I have no idea why I didn't think to do this when I started the website. June 23, 20082:30 PMI found some good videos online. The first one is available now, but the others will be put up later. Because these are large files (at 700 MB this first one is the small one), they take up a ton of my alloted server space. They're all going to be limited editions, so to speak. If you want them, grab them now because they may not be here more than a couple of weeks, and keep an eye on my updates section here for when I put up another. June 21, 20087:00 PM I finally decided how to display the giant animations I've been making. Yes, I said giant. People on AF1 may have already seen these, but if you have just been visiting this website, they will all be new to you. I also added some normal sized animations that I apparently never put on my website when I did them ages ago. Look for a "NEW" tag on all the animations galleries that have been updated. Also, for your convenience, I added links to all individual pages on the main animations menu page, so that you can start with any page without clicking "next" on the previous pages to get there. This will make it easier to see the new animations on an old gallery that has been updated. Main Animations Menu |

You are welcome to use any of my pictures on this site, and you don't have to link back to me (although all links are very, very appreciated), but if you do, please save the picture you want to use to your computer and upload it to your own picture hosting account (such as Photobucket or ImageShack). Don't hotlink to my pictures; it can cause me to exceed the data transfer limits of my webhosting plan and that shuts down my website so nobody can access it.Hotlinking is when you use the addresses of the pictures on my site to display them on your MySpace page or as signature pictures in forums, etc. The address of a picture is like a phone number. It tells a viewer's computer who to call to find out what that picture looks like. If you use the address for this website for a picture on your page, every time that picture displays on your MySpace page, or wherever, the browser that is accessing your page contacts the servers of my webhosting company and requests the data that makes up that picture. My webhost then charges me for it, like the way you get charged for all calls to your cell phone, regardless of where the call originates. If you upload the picture to Photobucket or ImageShack and use that address to display it, when the picture loads on people's computers, the computers call Photobucket or ImageShack and they pay for it, not me. PS: Some people were confused by what I said above, thinking I was asking them not to use my pictures. I do want people to use this art, like I said, I create it to make people happy. I love to see my pictures and animations on people's pages. All I'm asking is that you host the pictures on Photobucket or ImageShack when you use them. Thanks!!
